10-16 July 2013 - Aortas at ‘Playing For Integration’ workshop in Germany

In July Guy and I crossed the Andes by frog, via Amsterdam and Berlin, before ending up in Musikakademie Alteglofsheim near Regensburg, courtesy of Karin Rabhansl and P4i partner Kat Gade. It was a palace with great rooms, no aircon, rubber sleeves on the mattresses and school dinner food, but it was great nonetheless. We talked, we drank, we learned and sang traditional songs from all across Europe, we slapped ourselves silly, cracked whips and stole each others’ hats before finally a fantastic uplifting experience hosting a stage en masse at the Ingolstadt Buergerfest, with a bit of Dansmall and Guy dep’ing like a tart - check out the gravity-defying mandolin shots! Bavaria we love you!
