Our host Dorota Pasalska had a few minor setbacks to deal with at the start of the workshop. On the day most people were due to arrive, the original venue (Borowa Palace) was flooded by a burst pipe - no electricity and only waterbeds - so Aortas spent the first four hours on a tour of Wroclaw - first in, from the airport in the west to the centre, then out to the East, then back across town to the west, where we spent the night at Brzezina Palace - lovely place. The first half of the next day was spent firefighting logistics and accommodation, but it was worth it - we stayed at Krobliowice Palace for the rest of the workshop, with great food and lovely countryside around us. Some of the participants managed six or seven co-writes. Dan managed one, “Spiders” (lyrics below). High points included some great weather, dancing like loons in Wroclaw town on Saturday night, and a nice concert featuring new co-writes and guests from Hungary. Best not mention Dan missing two flights and a train (at the time of writing, those numbers may increase) on the way back. Next stop Redfields in May, then Germany in July!
